Pick your marketing plan like you would your running shoes.
Error towards comfort.
While training for my half marathon.
My first pair of shoes were cheap Nike’s.
They got the job done.
But they led to lateral knee pain.
An overuse injury by picking the wrong shoes.
Your marketing plan is the same way.
Don’t make the mistake of starting with the wrong “shoes.”
Pick the plan that will last the long haul.
Which marketing plan is comfortable for you?
There is no wrong answer.
But the correct answer is the one you’re comfortable with.
Marketing is like running.
You can’t do it once and be done.
That is… if you want to be good at it.
While training for my half marathon.
I didn’t always want to run.
But I showed up anyway.
Despite how I felt about it.
It was 100% on me to keep my feet moving.
One foot in front of the other
Your marketing is the same way.
It’s an infinite game.
Keep running Forest.
You can’t run all the time.
What makes you think you can market all the time?
Take time to rest and reflect.
While training for my half marathon.
I started to notice tenderness in my tibialis anterior.
Turns out I was lacking ankle mobility.
Until I learned how to stretch my ankles.
Your marketing is the same way.
Run it until you run into a problem.
And then course correct.
It’s really hard to figure out what you should or should not be doing while sitting on the sidelines.
Once you figure out what is working.
Double down.
Once you figure out what is not working.
Quit it completely.
The best way to learn is by doing.
