Estimated read time: 1 minute & 34 seconds.
I was lucky enough to host a panel on personal branding with two of my favorite personal brands.
Here are the 3 pillars to a STRONG personal brand.

👇
Everyone knows that authenticity creates a strong brand.
So then, why doesn’t anyone do it?
Fear.
I love to write.
It’s how I clarify my thinking.
But if you read what I write in my journal… you’ll quickly realize that I have some issues.
I don’t like to openly talk about those things.
It’s… vulnerable.
But every time I do… It strengthens my personal brand.
Why?
Because people grasp to our rough edges.
It gives them something to hold on to.
If you always APPEAR to be silky smooth.
People slide right off of you.
It’s in your victories AND your struggles that create a strong personal brand.
Don’t be a highlight reel.
Be a documentation machine.
Share the journey.
Your personal brand MUST be valuable.
You have two options.
Educate or entertain.
I’ll be the first to admit… I’m not very entertaining.
I’m honestly pretty boring.
I don’t live all that extravagant of a life.
But I do love to learn.
So therefore, I teach (educate).
As a result… people follow me for my ideas.
You don’t need both (entertain & educate) to build a personal brand.
But you definitely need at least one.
However, if you master both… you might be unstoppable.
What’s more important?
Quality or quantity?
Unequivocally… quantity
Why?
Because quantity LEADS to quality.
It’s a flywheel effect.
The more you create.
The more feedback you get.
The more feedback you get.
The better your content gets.
This does not mean to ignore quality.
Create the best content you can.
But don’t let it delay you from getting it out.
The trick is to create a consistent cadence you can stick to.
And then stick to it.
It’s just like working out.
Keep showing up.
And then somewhere WAY down the road you’ll look back and go… “Damn.”
Take home point…
- Authenticity ACTUALLY strengthens your brand.
- Educate or entertain people.
- Quantity leads to quality.
